The digitisation of cultural heritage in emergency situation is important for the protection, conservation, restoration, research, dissemination and promotion of cultural institutions (museums, galleries, libraries and archives, monuments and sites).
Many museum workers in Ukraine have previously been involved in human rights movements and many museums provide space for the promotion and discussion of human rights. This puts museum workers at particular risk in the current situation.
Fundraising for the additional equipment for upscaling the project for digitizing cultural heritage: digital cameras, laser scanners, drones, tripods, computers, lights and software.
Museums are interested in digitizing their collections in order not only to preserve the cultural information, but also to make it available to the wide public in an attractive manner. Emerging technologies, such as VR, AR and Web3D are widely used for creating virtual museum exhibitions in a museum environment through informative kiosks and on the World Wide Web.
